Detailed Itinerary
Your exclusive journey begins with a private transfer from your hotel in Istanbul to the airport around 4:00 am for your flight to Kayseri or Nevsehir. Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by your private guide and driver who will be at your service throughout the day. Your first stop is the surreal Devrent Valley, often called Imagination Valley, where your guide will show you the whimsical rock formations that resemble animals. You will then proceed to Pasabag Valley, home to the region’s most striking fairy chimneys. Since this is a private tour, you can explore these sites at your own pace without the rush of a large group.
Next, you will drive to Avanos, famous for its pottery traditions dating back to the Hittites. After enjoying a lunch of local specialties, you will visit the highlight of the day: the Goreme Open Air Museum. Here, your private guide will provide detailed insights into the history of the rock-cut churches and the beautiful Byzantine frescoes preserved within them. After breakfast, at 9:30 am, your private guide will meet you to begin the day’s exploration at Red Valley. You will enjoy a private, tranquil hike through the adjacent Rose Valley, discovering hidden cave chapels and lush vineyards away from the crowds. Your walk leads you to Cavusin Village, where you can explore the ruins of an old Greek village and its rock-cut dwellings.
After a delicious lunch, you will visit Pigeon Valley to see the historic pigeon houses carved into the cliffs. The afternoon is dedicated to exploring one of the region’s fascinating underground cities, either Kaymakli Underground City or Ozkonak Underground City. With your private guide leading the way, you will navigate the tunnels and learn about the lives of the early Christians who sought refuge here. After breakfast and check-out, your private driver and guide will pick you up at 9:30 am for a journey to the remarkable Derinkuyu Underground City, the deepest underground settlement in Cappadocia. Your guide will take you through the intricate levels of this ancient city, explaining its ventilation and defense systems in detail. Following this, you will head to the stunning Ihlara Valley, a lush canyon created by the Melendiz River. You will enjoy a peaceful walk along the riverbank, visiting rock-hewn churches that differ architecturally from those in Goreme.
Lunch will be served at a river-side restaurant in the valley, offering a serene atmosphere. Your final stop is the majestic Selime Monastery, a massive rock-cut complex that served as a religious center. In this case, the cost of all flight and bus tickets—which are non-refundable—will be deducted from your paid balance, and the remaining amount will be refunded to you. For cancellations or date changes made less than 5 days before the tour, the full amount paid will be considered non-refundable, as a “no-show” policy will apply.
