14-Day Egypt and Jordan Highlights Tour

Day 1: Arrive in Cairo, Airport Transfer and Free Day

Upon your arrival at Cairo Airport, our company representative will welcome you in the arrivals area. Look for a signboard bearing your name. After a warm meet and greet, you’ll be transferred to your hotel in Cairo. The rest of the day is at your leisure. Relax and prepare for the exciting journey ahead.

Day 2: Cairo – Giza Pyramids, Egyptian Museum, Coptic and Islamic Cairo and Khan El Khalili

After breakfast, you’ll be picked up from your hotel to begin a guided tour. The first stop is the majestic Pyramids of Giza, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Here, you’ll admire the Great Pyramid of Khufu, the Pyramid of Khafre, and the Pyramid of Menkaure. Then, you’ll proceed to the Sphinx, a mythical creature with the body of a lion and the head of a human.

Following this exploration, you’ll enjoy a lunch break at a local Egyptian restaurant.

Next, the tour takes you into the heart of Coptic Cairo, where you’ll discover landmarks like the Hanging Church and the Coptic Museum. The itinerary then leads you into Islamic Cairo, showcasing historical mosques and madrasas. Notable highlights include the iconic Sultan Hassan Mosque and the Al-Azhar Mosque.

In the afternoon, you’ll navigate the lively lanes of Khan El Khalili, Cairo’s renowned bazaar. The day wraps up at the Egyptian Museum, where you’ll find an extensive collection of ancient Egyptian antiquities, including the golden treasures of Tutankhamun.

After the tour, you’ll be transferred back to your hotel at approximately 5:00 pm. The rest of the day will be at your leisure.

Day 3: Fly from Cairo to Luxor – Embark on a Nile Cruise

After breakfast, we will transfer you to the airport for your flight to Luxor. Upon landing, immerse yourself in a private half-day tour of the Valley of the Kings. Marvel at three majestic royal tombs and delve into the funerary rites of ancient Egyptians as well as the significance of the intricate paintings and hieroglyphics. Witness the imposing 55ft.-high Colossi of Memnon, which once graced the entrance to an ancient funerary temple. Stroll through the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut and experience the final resting place of Tutankhamen (commonly known as King Tut), nestled beneath the arid hills alongside over 60 other richly decorated tombs of pharaohs.

Day 4: Nile Cruise: Private Exploration of Karnak Temple

After breakfast, embark on an exclusive tour of the iconic Karnak Temple. Once your historical journey concludes, step aboard your Nile Cruise, which will be your sanctuary for the next four nights. Spend your afternoon acclimating to the vessel, lounging by the pool, or setting out on your own to discover the charms of the adjacent town.

Day 5: Nile Cruise – Private Exploration of Edfu & Kom Ombo

After breakfast on board, the ship will anchor in the historical town of Edfu. For those keen on a quaint ride, a horse-drawn carriage awaits to transport you to the revered Edfu Temple, dating back to 237-57 BC. This private visit ensures a more intimate experience at one of the most immaculately preserved temples in Egypt, offering an evocative glimpse into the past.

As the cruise sails onward, the scenic banks of the Nile present the Kom Ombo Temple. With a private tour arranged for you, delve into the architectural marvel built in 181 BC. This riverside temple stands as a testament to the Greco-Roman era, with its majestic façade reflected in the Nile’s calm waters.

Day 6: Nile Cruise in Aswan

After breakfast on board, set sail to Philae Island where the enchanting Temple of Isis awaits. Adorned with exquisite pylons and boasting some of Egypt’s most intricate carvings, the temple stands as a testament to the grandeur of Upper Egypt.

As the afternoon sun bathes the Nile, embark on a serene journey aboard a traditional wooden Felucca. Let the gentle currents guide you, as you immerse yourself in the captivating beauty of the surrounding landscape.

Day 7: Nile Cruise End – Fly back to Cairo

After breakfast, disembark from the Nile River Cruise and be transferred to Aswan’s airport for your flight back to Cairo. Once you arrive, our representative will be there to assist and facilitate your transfer to your hotel.

Optional Tour: Abu Simbel Temples: Embark on an early morning journey to the renowned Abu Simbel Temples. Noted for its grandeur, Abu Simbel ranks second in popularity only to the Grand Pyramids. This excursion is available at an additional cost of USD 150 per person.

Day 8: Fly from Cairo to Amman (Airfare Not Included)

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Cairo International Airport for a flight to Amman. Upon arrival at Queen Alia Airport, our representative will meet and assist you through the customs and immigration procedures. Transfer to the hotel in Amman. The rest of your day is free to relax, explore, or perhaps get to know the city at your own pace.

Kindly note that the international airfare from Cairo to Amman is not covered in this tour package. Arranging and purchasing this flight is your responsibility.

Day 9: Jerash – Ajlun – Amman

After Breakfast, begin your journey with the ancient Roman City of Jerash. With over 6,500 years of history and its embrace by the Roman Empire in 63 BC, Jerash is celebrated as one of the most immaculately preserved Roman archaeological treasures worldwide. Its beauty remained concealed for countless ages, but recent discoveries have brought to light a stunning amalgamation of Roman and Middle Eastern architectural artistry.

Highlights of your visit include the majestic hippodrome, the revered Temple of Artemis dedicated to the city’s patron goddess, and the Jerash Archaeological Museum, where a collection of unearthed artifacts from the storied city awaits.

Your exploration continues to Ajlun Castle, which stands proudly atop a mountain. Traverse its intricate maze of passageways and chambers, and let the panoramic views of the countryside and its distinctive architectural essence captivate you.

After the tour, you will be transferred back to your hotel in Amman, with the rest of the day free for you to relax.

Day 10: Madaba – Mt. Nebo – Kerak – Petra

After breakfast, embark on a road journey to the enchanting city of Petra. Your first stop is the esteemed Mt. Nebo, also known as Siyagha. This mountain holds profound spiritual significance, serving as a memorial to the Prophet Moses. Legend states that from this vantage point, Moses saw the promised land.

While here, explore the remnants of an ancient monastery and a church, its floors adorned with exquisite mosaics. On clear days, enjoy sweeping views of the Jordan Valley, spot distant Judah and Jericho, and gaze upon the serene Dead Sea.

Next, head to St. George’s Greek Orthodox Basilica in Madaba. This sanctuary houses the world’s oldest mosaic map, depicting regions from Lebanon to Egypt and from the desert to the Mediterranean. Unearthed in 1894, this 6th-century masterpiece stands as a testament to Jordan’s rich history.

Dive into local flavors by joining a local chef for a culinary experience. Together, you’ll prepare a delightful Arabic meal using traditional ingredients, which you’ll then have the pleasure of enjoying.

Your exploration continues with a visit to the grand Crusader Castle of Kerak. The imposing walls and chambers echo tales of its pivotal role in shaping the destinies of kings and empires over the ages.

Upon arrival in Petra, check into your accommodation and unwind, preparing for another day of adventures in the ancient city.

Day 11: Petra – Wadi Rum

After breakfast, visit Petra for a tour of this famous ancient site. Petra, the “Pink City,” is the top tourist destination in Jordan and a UNESCO World Heritage Site between the Red and the Dead Seas. Petra is unique because the city was carved out of a massive rock face over 2,000 years ago.

Journey through the iconic SIQ, a majestic passageway created by two looming cliffs. Noteworthy sites within Petra include The Treasury, The Amphitheater, and The Ad-Deir Monastery. The latter grants a panoramic view of the valley and is reachable via a set of 800 rock-cut stairs.

Once you’ve taken in Petra’s magnificence, move on to Wadi Rum. A traditional Bedouin dinner awaits you there. Spend your night at a desert campsite located within a protected zone. These comfortable tents, equipped with modern conveniences, are nestled amidst stunning landscapes—perfect for watching the sunrise, sunset, and a mesmerizing starlit sky.

Day 12: Wadi Rum Camp – Wadi Rum 3 Hours Jeep Ride – Dead Sea

After breakfast, begin your exploration of the vast Wadi Rum desert. Board a 4×4 with your Bedouin guide to delve deeper into this majestic landscape. The shifting hues of the sands and mountains, coupled with the tranquil ambiance, highlight Wadi Rum as one of the globe’s most awe-inspiring desert terrains. Its cinematic splendor has even graced Hollywood screens. Throughout the tour, witness canyons, red sand dunes, ancient Nabatean rock inscriptions, and naturally formed rock bridges that have been sculpted over millennia.

Following your desert odyssey, set out on a four-hour drive to the world’s lowest point: the Dead Sea. Upon reaching, check into your hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to relax.

Day 13: Leisure Day at the Dead Sea

Revel in the serene atmosphere and let the day wash over you as you take advantage of the Dead Sea’s unique qualities.

Day 14: Dead Sea – Departure Queen Alia Airport

After breakfast at the hotel. Free time to enjoy the shores of the Dead Sea and the resort facilities and the variety of Spa treatments available till you are transferred to Queen Alia Airport for departure. This will be the end of our tour and services.
