Day 1: Arrive and Overnight in Istanbul

Arrive at any time. Upon your arrival in Istanbul, you will be met with our company representative in the arrivals area of the airport who will be holding a signboard with your name on it. After meet and greet, you will then be transferred from the airport to your hotel in Istanbul. After hotel check-in, the rest of the day is at leisure on your own.

Day 2: Istanbul Old City Tour

After breakfast, your tour guide will meet you at the hotel for today’s Old city tour. The first stop of the 8 day Turkey tour is the Haghia Sophia Museum and the Blue Mosque, the world’s only Mosque with six minarets and it is known as an Istanbul landmark. Then visit the Hippodrome. In the afternoon, the tour guide will accompany you to visit Topkapi Palace and then go to Grand Bazaar to go shopping. There are more than 4,000 shops in the indoor Bazaar. The dazzling traditional crafts such as spices, carpets, dried fruits, gold, and silverware are good gifts for friends and families. There are also many local snacks for you to taste. Afterward, we will go back to the hotel.

Friendly tips: Topkapi Palace (closed on Tuesdays); Hagia Sophia (closed on Mondays); Grand Bazaar (closed on Sundays).

Day 3: Fly to Cappadocia from Istanbul — North Cappadocia Tour

You will be picked up from your hotel around 4:30 am and will be transferred to the domestic airport for your flight from Istanbul to Kayseri or Nevsehir between 6:00 – 7:30 am. Upon arrival at Kayseri or Nevsehir airport, you will be picked up and transferred to Cappadocia. In Cappadocia, you will meet your professional tour guide to begin your full-day tour of North Cappadocia.

You’ll be accompanied to visit the Goreme Open Air Museum which has more than 30 rock cave churches with exquisite and colorful frescoes. Then we will head to visit Avanos, a town specializing in pottery, where you can enjoy some fine works. The next stop is the Valley of Monks, where you can see many tall, mushroom-shaped columns. This valley is also known as Fairy Chimney for their magical and playful structures. We will also stop by Devrent Valley and Kizilirmak River which are well worth a visit. On the way back, we’ll pass by Love Valley, where you can take pictures of the spectacular views of Cappadocia in the evening. After the tour, you will be transferred to your hotel in Cappadocia for check-in.

Day 4: South Cappadocia Tour — Fly to Izmir

After breakfast and start today’s South Cappadocia tour. First, the tour guide will show you around, Uchisar Castle. As the highest and largest Fairy Chimney in the Cappadocia region, it served as a defensive fort in ancient times. Next, we will arrange 2-hour hiking in Red Valley, which was named for the red color of the land and rocks. We will also go to nearby Rose Valley and Cavusin village. The Kaymakli Underground City is the largest underground city in the Cappadocia region. It is said that various underground caves together can accommodate up to 10,000 people and can be as deep as 40 meters (131 ft.). At the end of the day, you will be transferred to Kayseri or Nevsehir airport for your flight to Izmir through Istanbul. Upon your arrival at the Izmir airport, a representative will be present holding your name sign to pick you up and transfer you to your hotel.

Day 5: Drive to Pamukkale — Visit Necropolis of Hierapolis

After breakfast, the tour guide will meet you in the hotel for the Pamukkale tour. Then your guide and the driver will take you to Pamukkale in about 2.5 hours. Your guide will take you on a tour of one of nature’s wonders – Pamukkale. Please prepare your swimming gear in advance as you will have the opportunity to swim in the ancient antique Cleopatra Pool (an extra fee applies). Then we will visit Hierapolis City at the top of Pamukkale. Since ancient times, taking hot springs in Pamukkale has been a popular way for nobles to relax and keep good health. Therefore, this ancient city was once very prosperous and lively. Now there are a lot of ancient ruins for tourists to visit, such as the big theatre and Necropolis. After the tour, you will be escorted back to the hotel in Kusadasi.

Day 6: Ephesus Tour

After breakfast, we will start today’s wonderful Ephesus tour. We will firstly visit the Temple of Artemis, which has 126 marble pillars and is one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Then we will visit Ephesus Ancient City, one of the best preserved Ancient Greek urban sites in the world, including Hadrian Temple, Celsus Library, Old Theater, and Hamams. After lunch, we’ll continue our Ephesus tour with the House of the Virgin Mary, the last place where the Virgin Mary lived. After the visit, you will be transferred to your hotel in Kusadasi.

Day 7: Visit Pergamon — drive to Çanakkale

After breakfast, you will be picked up around 9:00 am from your hotel in Kusadasi to travel to Pergamon. After the lunch break, the tour will start a fully guided Pergamon Acropolis Tour. At Pergamon, the ancient world’s major power, you will visit the Acropolis, the ruins of Zeus AltarThrone of Satan”, the Hellenistic Theatre which had a seating capacity of 10,000 people, the Great Library which held 200,000 books, and Trojan, the Gymnasium situated on terraces, the lower Agora, Temple of Dionysus, Temple of Athena and Temple of Trojan. At the end of the tour, you will be transferred to your hotel in Canakkale.

Day 8: Visit Troy and Gallipoli — Drive to Istanbul

After breakfast, you will be picked up approximately at 8.30 am to depart to Canakkale to visit the legendary site of Troy. Troy is the city of Helen and was famous in Homer’s Iliad. You will see the reproduction of the Trojan Horse and learn about the Trojan Wars as well as seeing the Sacrificial Altars, ancient city walls, and houses of Troy which are thousands of years old, the Bouleterium, Odeon and current excavations. We will travel by ferry across the part of the Dardanelles known as “the Narrows”; reaching a small fishing village called Kilitbahir, known for its fort built by Mehmet the Conqueror. After lunch in Eceabat, we will travel to Gallipoli. Your visit will include Brighton Beach, the intended landing place, Beach Cemetery on the southern tip, Anzac Cove, the landing place of the first wave of Australian and New Zealand troops and home to up to 30,000 troops during the campaign, Ariburnu Cemetery, Anzac Commemoration Site, Lone Pine Australian Memorial, site of the successful attack and capture of Turkish trenches by the Australians during the August offensive, Johnston’s Jolly, where there are the original Allied and Turkish trenches and tunnels, 57th Regiment Turkish Memorial, The Nek and the Chunuk Bair New Zealand Memorial. At the end of the tour around 6:00 pm, you will travel to Istanbul. You will arrive in Istanbul around 11:00 pm and will be transferred to your hotel in Istanbul.

Day 9: Departure from Istanbul — End of Tour Service

After breakfast, you will check out from your hotel in Istanbul (hotel check-out is before 11:00 am) and will then be transferred to the Istanbul International airport according to your flight details. This will be the end of our tour and services.

IMPORTANT INFO:

  • Please note that the Blue Mosque is not open for visitation on Fridays as it is closed for religious prayer services. You will only be able to visit the outside of the Blue Mosque area on tours operated on Fridays. No visitation will be allowed inside the Blue Mosque for tourists on Fridays.
  • St. Sophia is closed on Monday, this will be replaced with the Basilica Cistern (Yerebatan Sarnici).
  • Topkapi Palace is closed on Tuesday, it will be replaced with the Beylerbeyi Palace.
  • Grand Bazaar is closed on Sunday.
  • During religious holidays, the spice market and Grand Bazaar are closed.
  • Vegetarian lunch option available upon request.
