You will be picked up from your hotel in Aswan around 5:00 am by a private air-conditioned vehicle and driven to Abu Simbel. It takes three and a half hours one-way driving from Aswan to Abu Simbel. You’ll get to see Ramses II’s monumental sun temple and queen Nefertari’s temple as well as Abu Simbel’s other popular attractions. Ramses II built the temple to honour himself after he defeated his enemies at the famous Kadesh battle. Mural paintings in the temple show Ramses winning the battle. The queen Nefertari Temple was built for her favourite wife Queen Nefertari along with Ramses II’s 200 wives and concubines. After finishing your visit, you’ll be transferred to your hotel in Aswan.

I highly recommend taking a day trip to Abu Simbel from Aswan. The car was comfortable and the driver was very attentive. It is a tough drive for so many hours there and back but it is definitely worth it to see the temples. The temples are absolutely stunning and well worth the trip.
