Your exclusive journey begins with a private transfer from your hotel in Istanbul to the airport around 4:00 am for your flight to Kayseri or Nevsehir. Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by your private guide and driver who will be at your service throughout the day. You will then proceed to Vale de Pasabag, home to the region’s most striking fairy chimneys. Your walk leads you to Vila de Cavusin, where you can explore the ruins of an old Greek village and its rock-cut dwellings.
After a delicious lunch, you will visit Vale dos Pombos to see the historic pigeon houses carved into the cliffs. The afternoon is dedicated to exploring one of the region’s fascinating underground cities, either Cidade Subterrânea de Kaymakli ou Cidade Subterrânea de Ozkonak. After breakfast and check-out, your private driver and guide will pick you up at 9:30 am for a journey to the remarkable Cidade Subterrânea de Derinkuyu, the deepest underground settlement in Cappadocia. Your guide will take you through the intricate levels of this ancient city, explaining its ventilation and defense systems in detail. Following this, you will head to the stunning Vale de Ihlara, a lush canyon created by the Melendiz River. You will enjoy a peaceful walk along the riverbank, visiting rock-hewn churches that differ architecturally from those in Goreme.
Lunch will be served at a river-side restaurant in the valley, offering a serene atmosphere. Can Berber checked in with us while we were on the road to ensure we had met our driver, which was a nice personal touch. The landscape is honestly like landing on another planet. We spent a lot of time at the Open Air Museum and having a private guide meant we could actually hear the history without being jostled by the big bus crowds.
