Sakkara

Sakkara, also spelled Saqqara, is a vast, ancient burial ground in Egypt, located about 30 km south of Cairo. As one of Egypt’s most significant archaeological sites, Sakkara is famed for the Step Pyramid of Djoser, designed by the architect Imhotep around 2700 BC. This site marks a major architectural innovation, representing the world’s oldest large-scale stone structure. Visitors can explore several tombs adorned with intricate reliefs, including the Tomb of Ti and the Serapeum, the burial site of sacred Apis bulls.
