FAQs:

Are international flights from Los Angeles included?

Yes, round-trip international flights between Los Angeles and Istanbul are fully included in the tour price. We will arrange your flights with trusted carriers such as Turkish Airlines, Delta, or United, which operate direct or convenient one-stop flights between LAX and Istanbul.

Do I need a visa to visit Turkey from the USA?

Yes, US citizens require an e-Visa to enter Turkey. The e-Visa can be obtained easily online at evisa.gov.tr before your departure. The process takes only a few minutes and costs approximately $50 USD. Ensure your passport is valid for at least 6 months beyond your entry date.

Is the hot air balloon ride in Cappadocia worth it?

Absolutely -- it's one of the most memorable experiences in Turkey. Floating over the fairy chimneys at sunrise offers spectacular views you can't get any other way. Since it's optional and weather-dependent, we strongly recommend booking it in advance for your first morning in Cappadocia, leaving a backup day in case of cancellation.

What is a cave hotel like in Cappadocia?

Cave hotels are built into the region's natural volcanic rock and offer a truly unique stay. Rooms are carved into the stone, maintaining a comfortable temperature year-round, and are equipped with modern amenities including private bathrooms, heating, and Wi-Fi. It's a signature Cappadocia experience that many travelers call the highlight of their trip.

How much walking is involved in this tour?

This tour involves a moderate amount of walking, particularly in Istanbul's old city and during the Cappadocia valley explorations. Expect to walk 3-6 km on touring days, often over cobblestones, uneven terrain, and some hilly paths. Comfortable walking shoes are essential. The Rose Valley hike in Cappadocia is optional if you prefer to rest.

What is the best time of year to take this tour?

April to June and September to November are ideal, offering mild weather and comfortable sightseeing conditions. July and August can be very hot, especially in Istanbul, while winter (December to March) brings cold temperatures and occasional snow in Cappadocia -- though snow-dusted fairy chimneys are spectacular for photography.

Can I customize this tour or add extra nights?

Yes, absolutely. You can extend your stay in Istanbul or Cappadocia, or add destinations such as Pamukkale or Ephesus. Simply indicate your preferences in the booking form or contact us directly, and we will tailor the itinerary to suit your interests and schedule.

What currency is used and should I exchange money in advance?

Turkey uses the Turkish Lira (TRY). US dollars and USD are widely accepted at tourist sites and in larger shops, but for smaller purchases and tips, local currency is preferable. ATMs are plentiful in both Istanbul and Cappadocia, and credit cards are accepted at most hotels, restaurants, and larger stores.

Will I travel with the same group and guide throughout the tour?

Our multi-day Turkey packages are regular group/shared tour arrangements, not fully escorted tours with one tour leader and the same guests from arrival to departure. Sightseeing tours are shared and usually operate with about 15-20 guests, but group size and participants may change by city or day as travelers join or leave different scheduled tours. Licensed English-speaking guides lead scheduled sightseeing visits only. Guides do not travel with guests on domestic flights, intercity buses, airport transfers, hotel transfers, or free-time periods unless this is specifically stated in the itinerary. For flights, buses, and transfers, guests are met by our driver or local representative at airports, bus terminals, or hotels and assisted with the planned transfer. One Nation Travel coordinates the full itinerary, hotels, domestic tickets, transfers, local guides, and support throughout the trip.
