Maiden’s Tower

Maiden’s Tower is a tower located in the middle of the Bosporus Strait in Istanbul, Turkey. It is also known as Leander’s Tower, because it is said that Leander swam from the European to the Asian side of the city every night to visit his lover, Hero, who lived in a tower on the other side. The current tower was built in the late sixteenth century and is now a popular tourist attraction.
