You spend two days in Cappadocia, followed by a day in Pamukkale, an overnight in Kusadasi or Selcuk, an overnight in Canakkale, and a final afternoon at Troy before returning to Istanbul. Travel combines a domestic flight from Istanbul, overnight intercity buses, and road transfers between tour areas and hotels.

In Cappadocia, you see the volcanic rock formations, cave-cut settlements, and broad views around Goreme and Uchisar. Pamukkale brings you to its white travertine terraces and the ruins of Hierapolis. You then visit ancient Ephesus and the remains of the Temple of Artemis before heading north to the archaeological layers of Troy and its wooden horse replica.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Istanbul – Flight to Cappadocia and North Route

You will be picked up from your hotel in Istanbul at around 4:00 am and transferred to the airport for your domestic flight to Cappadocia. Arrival time and airport may vary according to flight availability. After landing, you will join the North Cappadocia route, a full day that begins directly from the airport rather than after hotel check-in.

Your first stops are Devrent Valley, known for animal-shaped rock forms, and Pasabag Open Air Museum, where fairy chimneys have several stone caps. Lunch is served during the route. Continue to an Avanos Pottery Workshop to see a long-standing craft associated with the town, then stop at the Goreme Panoramic View for a clear look across the region's carved valleys and rock dwellings.

The afternoon continues at Zelve Open Air Museum, an abandoned rock-cut settlement with former homes, churches, and work spaces. You will also see Uchisar Castle from outside before transferring to your cave or stone hotel at about 4:00 pm. A Turkish night show can be arranged separately for the evening if you would like additional entertainment. Overnight in Cappadocia.

South Cappadocia – Overnight Bus to Pamukkale

After breakfast, around 8:30 am, you will be picked up from your hotel. The South Cappadocia route starts with time in Red Valley and Rose Valley, where footpaths pass through soft volcanic tuff, a rock formed from compacted volcanic ash. These stops are best approached at an easy pace, as the ground can be uneven in places.
Continue to Cavusin Village, where rock-cut homes and religious spaces remain visible in the hillside. Lunch is served during the day. You will then visit Pigeon Valley, named for the pigeon houses carved into its cliff faces, before entering an Underground City. Your guide will explain how rooms, tunnels, ventilation shafts, and heavy stone doors helped communities use these spaces for shelter.
Before the daytime program, you may arrange a hot air balloon flight separately, subject to suitable weather and official approval. Balloon watching can also be arranged separately. At about 5:00 pm, transfer to the Cappadocia Bus Station for your overnight intercity bus to Pamukkale, with scheduled rest stops on the way. Overnight intercity bus to Pamukkale.

Pamukkale and Hierapolis – Transfer to Kusadasi or Selcuk

You will arrive at Denizli Bus Station in the early morning and transfer to a local hotel for a fresh-up room and breakfast. Arrival time can vary with road conditions and bus operations. After a break, you will be transferred to the touring area for the guided visit.

After breakfast, around 9:30 am, you will be picked up from your hotel. Begin at Pamukkale, whose name means Cotton Castle, and walk beside the white mineral formations of the White Calcium Terraces. The terraces are made of travertine, a form of limestone deposited by thermal water. Lunch is served during the route before you continue through Hierapolis Ancient City, the Greco-Roman settlement built above the springs.

You will have time at Cleopatra Antique Thermal Pool. Swimming is optional and arranged on site if you choose to enter the pool. In the afternoon, travel west toward the Aegean coast and arrive in Kusadasi or Selcuk for the night. The drive follows the tour route after the Pamukkale visit, so keep essential items with you rather than packed away. Overnight in Kusadasi or Selcuk.

Ephesus Full-Day Tour – Bus to Canakkale

After breakfast, around 8:30 am, you will be picked up from your hotel. From Kusadasi, travel to Ephesus Ancient City, where the route follows streets that once connected civic buildings, shops, bath complexes, and public gathering places. Your guide will set the site in its Greek and Roman context before you begin walking through it.
See the Library of Celsus, the Great Theatre, and the marble-paved main streets of Ephesus. Lunch is served during the day. Continue to the House of Virgin Mary, a pilgrimage site in the hills above the ancient city, then visit the remains of the Temple of Artemis. Only limited structural remains survive, so this stop is most useful with the guide's explanation of the temple's former scale and role.
After the tour, transfer to Izmir Bus Station for the evening intercity bus north. The journey to Canakkale includes rest breaks and arrives around midnight, depending on traffic and bus timing. On arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel. Overnight in Canakkale.

Troy Ancient City – Return to Istanbul

After breakfast at your hotel in Canakkale, you will have a free morning before your afternoon pickup. Around 1:00 pm, transfer to the tour meeting point for the visit to Troy Ancient City. This is a layered archaeological site, with settlements from different periods built one above another rather than a single intact ancient city.
Your guide will explain the Bronze Age levels associated with the Trojan War tradition and the later remains of Roman Troy. You will see where Roman streets, public areas, and structures were built above much older foundations. The visit also includes the Trojan Horse Replica, a symbolic photo stop linked to the story told in the Iliad. The value of Troy is in understanding the layers, so allow time to follow the guide's sequence through the site.
At about 4:00 pm, the Troy visit ends. Your return transfer to Istanbul begins around 5:00 pm, with a break on the way. Arrival at your central Istanbul hotel is expected around 10:30 pm, depending on traffic. Your tour ends on arrival in Istanbul.

This is a regular group tour, but if requested at cost can be provided as a private tour.

You can swim in the Antique pool in Pamukkale. However, please note that there is an extra charge that you will have to pay directly at your own expense before entry to the pools. This entrance fee to the pools is not covered as part of your tour.Please note that you must bring your own towel, swimsuit etc. if you need to use the pools.
On flights luggage allowance is 15 kg per person for checked in luggage. For carry-on, you can take up to 8 kg per person. One carry-on is allowed per person.

Schedule & Transfers

Where do I stay each night?

You spend one night in Cappadocia, then travel overnight by intercity bus to Pamukkale. You then have one night in Kusadasi or Selcuk and one night in Canakkale. The trip ends with an evening transfer back to your central Istanbul hotel on the fifth day.

How does the Istanbul pickup work?

Your first pickup is very early, around 4:00 am, from your Istanbul hotel for the airport transfer. We provide the confirmed pickup time and arrangements before departure. On the final evening, you are transferred back to a central Istanbul hotel after the return journey from Canakkale.

How demanding is the daily schedule?

This is a fast-moving route with early starts, a domestic flight, two long-distance bus journeys, and full sightseeing days. You will walk at several outdoor and archaeological sites, often on uneven ground, slopes, or stone paths. The pace is manageable for travelers with ordinary mobility, but it is not a slow-paced stay in each destination.

What should I expect from the overnight bus to Pamukkale?

After the second Cappadocia tour, you travel overnight by intercity bus to Pamukkale with scheduled rest stops. You arrive early in Denizli and use a fresh-up room before breakfast and the Pamukkale tour. Keep a small bag with your essentials, a light layer, and anything you need for the following morning.

When is the best time to take this route?

Spring and fall are usually the easiest times for this itinerary if you prefer more comfortable conditions for long outdoor touring days. Summer can feel hot at exposed sites, while cooler months call for warmer layers, especially during early airport transfers and morning starts. Whatever season you choose, pack for changing temperatures across Cappadocia, Pamukkale, the Aegean coast, and Canakkale.

What should I wear and bring?

Wear comfortable walking shoes with good grip for uneven paths and archaeological ground. Bring layers for early mornings and air-conditioned transport, plus sun protection for daytime visits. A small day bag is useful for water, medication, phone charging, and your bus-night essentials.

Can I take a hot air balloon flight in Cappadocia?

A Cappadocia hot air balloon flight is optional and arranged separately. It takes place early on the second morning when suitable weather and official approval allow it, so it cannot be guaranteed. If you choose it, plan for an earlier start before the South Cappadocia tour pickup.

What is included for the domestic flight and luggage?

The route includes a domestic flight from Istanbul to Cappadocia, arriving at Kayseri or Nevsehir depending on availability. Your luggage allowance is 15 kg for checked baggage and 8 kg for cabin baggage. Flight times and the arrival airport can change, so pack important items and one change of clothes in your cabin bag.

Is this trip suitable for solo travelers, and will I have connectivity?

You can take this route solo if you are comfortable with a busy schedule and an overnight bus connection. There is little unplanned time between transfers and tours, so keep your hotel details, pickup information, and key contacts saved on your phone.
