Early in the morning, you will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to Cairo Airport for your flight to Luxor. Upon arrival, meet your guide and begin a private half-day tour of Luxor’s legendary West Bank.
Your exploration starts at the Valley of the Kings, where you will enter three impressive royal tombs, richly decorated with colorful wall paintings and hieroglyphics depicting scenes from the afterlife. Here, you will also have the opportunity to visit the famous tomb of Tutankhamun (optional, with extra cost).
Continue to the imposing Colossi of Memnon, two massive statues standing 55 feet tall that once marked the entrance to a grand funerary temple. Then, visit the magnificent Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, one of Egypt’s most striking architectural achievements, built into the cliffs of Deir el-Bahari and dedicated to Egypt’s most powerful female pharaoh.
In the late afternoon, transfer to the port where you will embark on your luxurious Nile River Cruise. Check into your cabin, enjoy dinner on board, and settle in for your unforgettable journey along the Nile.
This morning, disembark from your cruise and set out to explore the magnificent Karnak Temple, the largest temple complex in Egypt and one of the most important religious centers of the ancient world. Spanning more than 2,000 years of construction, each pharaoh added their mark, creating a monumental open-air museum of Egyptian history.
Walk through the awe-inspiring Great Hypostyle Hall, with its 134 towering sandstone columns, some rising over 20 meters high. Discover intricately carved hieroglyphics, colossal statues, obelisks, and sacred lakes that once played a role in ancient rituals. Your expert guide will bring the site to life, sharing the myths, ceremonies, and power struggles that unfolded here.
The guided tour will last approximately 2.5 to 3 hours, giving you time to explore, take photos, and immerse yourself in the grandeur of this legendary temple.
After the visit, return to your cruise ship. The afternoon is at leisure—relax on the sundeck, enjoy the passing scenery of the Nile River, or simply unwind as the cruise continues its journey.
This morning, after breakfast on board, your cruise will dock at the historic town of Edfu. Here, a traditional horse-drawn carriage will take you to the magnificent Temple of Horus, one of the best-preserved temples in Egypt, dating back to 237–57 BC. Dedicated to the falcon-headed god Horus, this temple offers a vivid window into ancient religious practices and the grandeur of Ptolemaic architecture. With towering columns, richly decorated walls, and imposing statues, Edfu provides a rare opportunity to step back into Egypt’s sacred past.
Continuing your journey along the Nile, the cruise will next stop at the riverside Temple of Kom Ombo, a unique structure dedicated to two gods simultaneously—the falcon god Horus and the crocodile god Sobek. Built during the Greco-Roman period around 181 BC, its remarkable dual design features mirrored courts, halls, and sanctuaries for each deity. The temple’s reliefs, beautifully illuminated by the setting sun over the Nile, depict fascinating scenes of medicine, surgery, and offerings, giving insight into ancient Egyptian life and beliefs.
After your exploration, return to the comfort of your cruise ship to relax and enjoy dinner as you continue sailing south.
After breakfast on board, set out to visit the enchanting Philae Island, home to the beautiful Temple of Isis. Dedicated to the goddess of health, marriage, and wisdom, this sanctuary is renowned for its graceful pylons, elegant courtyards, and finely detailed reliefs—some of the most intricate carvings in Upper Egypt. Relocated stone by stone to its current site to protect it from the rising waters of the Nile, the temple remains a remarkable symbol of devotion and architectural mastery.
In the afternoon, as the golden light of the sun reflects on the river, embark on a peaceful sail aboard a traditional wooden Felucca. Drift along the gentle currents of the Nile River, taking in stunning views of lush riverbanks, granite outcrops, and Aswan’s tranquil landscapes. The serene atmosphere offers a perfect pause to reflect on the timeless beauty of Egypt.
After breakfast, disembark from your Nile River Cruise and transfer to Aswan Airport for your flight back to Cairo. Upon arrival, our representative will meet you and escort you to your hotel. The remainder of the day is free at leisure in Cairo.
Optional Tour: Abu Simbel Temples (EUR 150 per person)
For those wishing to experience one of Egypt’s most breathtaking monuments, you may join an early morning shared group tour to the world-famous Abu Simbel Temples. Built during the reign of Pharaoh Ramses II, these colossal temples—dedicated to Ramses himself and his beloved queen Nefertari—are carved directly into the mountainside. Admire the four towering statues at the entrance and explore the richly decorated interiors that stand as a testament to ancient Egyptian power and artistry. This excursion is a highlight for many visitors to Egypt and ranks second in fame only to the Great Pyramids.
