The Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square and the Grand Egyptian Museum near Giza are separate museums. Several tours in this collection name the Egyptian Museum. If the Grand Egyptian Museum or a particular collection is a priority, request it explicitly and confirm the admission, time allowance and any itinerary change before booking.
Cairo traffic, airport procedures and cruise embarkation affect how much sightseeing fits into a day. Domestic flights can require early starts. Cruise sailing and the order of shore visits may change with navigation and docking schedules; use the confirmed itinerary when arranging onward travel.
Giza and the temples involve outdoor walking, sand, stone steps and limited shade. October to April generally offers more comfortable sightseeing conditions than summer, especially in Luxor and Aswan. Bring suitable shoes and sun protection, and discuss walking limitations before choosing a route.
Visa eligibility and entry requirements depend on your passport and circumstances. Check the official Egypt e-Visa portal or Egyptian consulate before travel, and review your government’s current travel advice for each region on your route. Visa charges and travel insurance are separate unless expressly included in your booking.

Start with your available days and whether you want to sleep aboard a Nile cruise. These examples show the difference between a Cairo break, a hotel-based Cairo and Luxor journey, and a longer trip combining the capital with Upper Egypt.
The 4-Day Best of Cairo Tour has three hotel nights and two private sightseeing days: Giza, Memphis and Saqqara, followed by the Egyptian Museum, Citadel and Old Cairo. The 5-Day Egypt Tour adds Luxor’s East and West Banks, with three nights in Cairo, one in Luxor and return domestic flights. Neither example includes an overnight Nile cruise.
The 7-Day Egypt Tour combines three Cairo hotel nights with three cruise nights from Aswan to Luxor. The 9-Day Best of Egypt Tour includes four Cairo nights, two full Cairo sightseeing days and four cruise nights from Luxor to Aswan. Both list domestic flights. Abu Simbel is optional in the seven-day program; the nine-day program includes it as a shared group excursion.
The 5-Day Nile Cruise from Cairo by Flight includes four nights aboard a shared cruise ship, private guided shore visits, flights from Cairo to Luxor and Aswan to Cairo, and the listed Cairo hotel transfers. It covers Luxor, Edfu, Kom Ombo and Aswan. Cairo hotel accommodation and Cairo sightseeing are not included; Abu Simbel and the Aswan felucca ride are optional extras.
A private guide does not mean exclusive use of a Nile cruise ship. The 8-Day All-Inclusive Egypt Tour Package lists private sightseeing, four Cairo hotel nights, three cruise nights, an Alexandria day trip and domestic flights. Its meal plan specifies breakfasts, six lunches and four dinners; international flights, drinks, tips and optional Abu Simbel are excluded. Compare the written inclusions, including any shared excursions, rather than relying on the package label.
A general museum visit does not automatically cover both major museums or every specially ticketed area. The Grand Egyptian Museum’s official Tutankhamun Galleries page describes that collection. Ask us to confirm the named museum if those exhibits are central to your plans. Entry inside the Great Pyramid and selected special tombs may require additional tickets; the nine-day package expressly excludes these unless stated.
