Detailed Itinerary
Arrival at Kayseri or Nevsehir Airport should be before 8:30 AM to join this tour. Upon arrival, our representative will greet you and your fellow travelers, and the group will transfer to Cappadocia for a full-day North Cappadocia tour.
Around 9:30 AM, your guide will lead the group to Devrent Valley, famous for its whimsical fairy chimney formations shaped by centuries of wind and rain. Continue to Pasabag Valley (Monks Valley), where towering mushroom-shaped pinnacles rise dramatically from the earth. From there, head to Avanos, a charming town celebrated for its centuries-old pottery-making tradition along the Red River.
After lunch at a local restaurant, the group will visit the Zelve Open Air Museum, an extraordinary abandoned rock-cut settlement featuring ancient cave churches, dwellings, and a mosque carved directly into the stone. Toward the end of the afternoon, stop at Uchisar Castle for panoramic photos — while entry to the castle itself is not permitted, the surrounding viewpoints offer sweeping vistas across the Cappadocian landscape.
Around 4:00 PM, transfer back to your hotel for check-in. The remainder of the evening is at leisure. Overnight in Cappadocia.

The morning begins with a visit to the stunning Red Valley, where you’ll explore ancient rock-cut churches adorned with faded frescoes. From here, join fellow travelers on a scenic 5 km hike through the adjoining Rose Valley (Güllüdere Vadisi), celebrated for its vibrant, rose-colored rock formations and sweeping panoramic views. Next, continue to Çavuşin Village, a historical settlement featuring cave houses and early Christian churches once inhabited by clergy. Around midday, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, visit Pigeon Valley, named for the thousands of dovecotes intricately carved into its towering cliffs. The final highlight of the day is a visit to one of Cappadocia’s remarkable subterranean complexes — visit the fascinating Kaymakli Underground City or Kaymakli Underground City or Ozkonak Underground City (the specific underground city visited depends on daily availability) — both used by early Christians as shelters during times of persecution.

The hot air balloon ride is not included in the tour price, as it is an optional activity that takes place early in the morning before the day’s sightseeing begins. Your guide can help you arrange a balloon ride on either morning of the tour, and we recommend booking it in advance as spots fill up quickly.
Your accommodation is a cave hotel or equivalent, offering a truly unique overnight experience in a room carved into the region’s natural rock formations. Daily breakfast is included at the hotel. These cave hotels blend authentic Cappadocian character with modern comforts such as en-suite bathrooms, heating, and Wi-Fi, giving you one of the most memorable stays in all of Turkey.
On Day 1, you’ll be picked up from Kayseri Airport and transferred to your hotel in Cappadocia via a shared shuttle, which takes approximately one hour. On the final day, after your South Cappadocia tour concludes, your return transfer to either Kayseri or Nevsehir Airport will be arranged according to your departure flight time.
Comfortable walking shoes with good grip are essential, as you’ll be exploring uneven terrain at open-air museums, underground cities, and valley viewpoints. Layers are recommended since Cappadocia’s climate can shift from warm days to cool evenings, especially in spring and autumn. Bring sunscreen, a hat, a water bottle, and a camera — the landscapes are extraordinarily photogenic. For the underground city visit, a light jacket is useful as temperatures are cooler below ground.
The best time to visit Cappadocia is from April to June and September to November, when the weather is mild, crowds are smaller, and hot air balloon flights operate most consistently. Summer (July-August) is warm and busy but still rewarding, while winter offers a magical snow-covered landscape, though some outdoor activities may be limited. This 2-day guided tour operates year-round, so you can enjoy Cappadocia’s highlights in any season.
Many nationalities can obtain an e-Visa online before traveling to Turkey, which is a quick and straightforward process through the official Turkish e-Visa website. Citizens of some countries are exempt from visa requirements for short tourist stays. We recommend checking the latest visa requirements for your nationality well in advance of your trip, and ensuring your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your planned travel dates.
