You spend one night in Kusadasi after the Ephesus sightseeing on the first day. You check out after breakfast on the second morning and return to Istanbul by domestic flight that evening.

Pickup from your Istanbul hotel is around 4:00 am on the first morning so you can reach the airport for the flight to Izmir. Your return flight is in the late evening on the second day, so plan for a long travel day and do not schedule anything important that night.

Q: Is hotel transfer provided after I land back in Istanbul?

The tour includes pickup from European-side Istanbul hotels and transfer to the departure airport on the first day. Transfer from Istanbul Airport or Sabiha Gokcen Airport to your Istanbul hotel after the return flight is not included.

You begin with a pre-dawn hotel pickup in Istanbul and a domestic flight to Izmir, then spend the day exploring Ephesus and the surrounding area before checking in for the night in Kusadasi. Expect a long first day with airport travel, guided walking at ancient sites, and a lunch break built into the schedule.

The second day moves at a steadier but still active pace through Priene, Miletus, and Didyma, tracing the old Ionian coast through cities with different layouts, theaters, and temple remains. After breakfast and hotel check-out, you continue touring through the afternoon, then transfer to Izmir Airport for an evening flight back to Istanbul. Your return airport-to-hotel transportation in Istanbul is not part of the itinerary, so plan your onward arrangements with a late arrival in mind.

Day 1 :

Flight to Izmir – Ephesus Full-Day Tour

We will pick you up from your hotel in Istanbul early in the morning and transfer you to Istanbul Airport for your domestic flight to Izmir. After arrival, meet your licensed guide and begin the day at the Temple of Artemis. Once among the ancient world’s Seven Wonders, the site now gives useful context before you enter the larger Ephesus archaeological area.

Continue to Ephesus, the Greco-Roman city where the main streets, public buildings, and monuments make the layout easy to follow on foot. You will see the Library of Celsus, the Temple of Hadrian, and the Great Theater as your guide explains how the city developed under Greek and Roman rule. Lunch is served during the tour, providing a break before the afternoon visits.

Visit the House of the Virgin Mary, a site visited by both Christian and Muslim pilgrims, then continue to the Isabey Mosque near Selcuk. At the end of the tour, transfer to your 4-star hotel in Kusadasi for check-in. Dinner is served at the hotel. Overnight in Kusadasi.

Day 2 :

Priene, Miletus and Didyma – Flight to Istanbul

After breakfast, around 8:30 am, you will be picked up from your hotel. After checking out in Kusadasi, travel south through the former territory of Ionia, a group of ancient Greek cities on the Aegean coast. Your first stop is Priene, known for its planned street grid and hillside setting. See the Temple of Athena and trace the route through the remains of its public and residential quarters.

Continue to Miletus, an important ancient port city whose shoreline changed as the nearby river deposited silt over centuries. The large Theater of Miletus is the key stop here, with views across the site and toward the remains on the acropolis. Lunch is served during the day before the final archaeological visit.

At Didyma, visit the Temple of Apollo, a major oracle sanctuary of the ancient world. Your guide will point out the surviving columns, passageways, and the Medusa head from the temple decoration. After the tour, transfer to Izmir Airport for your evening flight back to Istanbul. Airport-to-hotel transportation in Istanbul is not included.
