Istanbul Old City Tour

After breakfast, around 8:30 am, you will be picked up from your hotel. Begin in Istanbul‘s old city with Hagia Sophia Grand Mosque, where the scale of the former Byzantine church is easiest to understand from the central interior. Continue to the Blue Mosque, known for its blue İznik tilework, then walk through the former chariot-racing ground of the Hippodrome.

Lunch is served at a restaurant in the old city before the afternoon visit to Topkapi Palace Museum. The palace complex was the administrative center and residence of Ottoman sultans, and its courtyards give you a clearer sense of how the site was organized than a quick exterior visit would.

You will then board your boat for a morning cruise on the Bosphorus, the waterway between the European and Asian sides of Istanbul.

From the boat, you will see the waterside setting of Dolmabahçe Palace and Beylerbeyi Palace, along with bridges, fortified points, and older wooden waterfront homes. The cruise is a useful way to see how the city extends along both shores without spending the morning in road traffic.

After the cruise, return to your hotel to collect your luggage, then continue to the domestic airport for your flight to Izmir. On arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel in Kuşadası.
