Planning a trip to Turkey from Canada? One Nation Travel has been helping Canadian travelers explore the wonders of Turkey since 2007. With direct flights available from Toronto to Istanbul and convenient connections from Vancouver, Montreal, Calgary, and other major Canadian cities, Turkey is more accessible than ever for Canadian tourists.
Turkey offers an extraordinary blend of history, culture, and natural beauty — from the grandeur of Istanbul's Hagia Sophia to the otherworldly landscapes of Cappadocia, from the ancient ruins of Ephesus to the Mediterranean shores of Antalya. Our guided tour packages take you beyond the guidebook to experience everything Turkey has to offer with the comfort of expert English-speaking local guides.
As a TURSAB Class A licensed tour operator (No: 6073) with dual operations in North America and Istanbul, we design every itinerary ourselves and employ our own professional guides. No third-party agents, no hidden markups — just authentic Turkish travel experiences at the best value.

Turkey Visa for Canadian Passport Holders
Canadian citizens need a Turkey e-Visa — easy, fully online, and usually approved instantly.
Turkey e-Visa for Canada
Multiple-entry electronic visa, applied online via the official government portal.
- Visit the official Turkey e-Visa portal at evisa.gov.tr (this is the only official site).
- Complete the online application form — passport details, travel dates, and a valid email address.
- Pay the visa fee (~$50 USD, around C$70) using a Canadian credit or debit card.
- Receive your e-Visa by email almost instantly. Print a copy and save digital copies on your phone.
- Carry the printed e-Visa with you when you travel — Turkish immigration may ask to see it on arrival.
⚠️ Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your travel date. We provide a free step-by-step visa guide to all booked clients — just ask after booking.
Practical Tips for Canadian Travelers
What you need to know about food, language, money, and electricity before your Turkey trip.
Food & Dining
Turkish cuisine is a paradise — kebabs, mezze, fresh seafood, baklava, and the famous Turkish breakfast. Almost all meat in restaurants is halal by default (Turkey is a Muslim-majority country). Vegetarian options are everywhere — gozleme, pide, lentil soup, dolma, hummus. Tap water is not recommended; bottled water is widely available and inexpensive.
Language
Our tours are conducted in fluent English by professional Turkish guides. Some of our guides also speak French — perfect for our Quebecois travelers. In all tourist areas (Istanbul, Cappadocia, Antalya, Ephesus, Pamukkale), most shop owners and hotel staff also speak English. Virtually no language barrier for Canadian travelers.
Money & Tipping
Turkish Lira (TRY) is the local currency, but USD and EUR are widely accepted in tourist areas. Visa and Mastercard work almost everywhere. ATMs are abundant. Our prices are quoted in USD; you pay in CAD via your card, with the bank handling the conversion. Tipping: 10% in restaurants, ~C$8-12/day for guides, C$3-6 for drivers — appreciated but not mandatory.
Time, Power & SIM
Turkey is 7-10 hours ahead of Canada (7 from Toronto/Montreal, 10 from Vancouver). Power sockets are European-style Type C / F (220V) — Canadian plugs do NOT fit, so bring a universal travel adapter. Local SIMs (Turkcell, Vodafone) at the airport, or use a global eSIM like Airalo for instant connectivity.
