8-Day Private Turkey Tour: Istanbul, Pamukkale, Ephesus & Cappadocia

You can arrive at Istanbul Airport (IST) or Sabiha Gökçen Airport (SAW) at any time. You will meet our airport representative for your transfer to your centrally located hotel in Istanbul.

After check-in, you have the rest of the day to rest or explore independently. Allow approximately 2 hours for arrival formalities and your transfer; the actual duration depends on your confirmed flight schedule and traffic.

Overnight in Istanbul.

After breakfast, you meet your licensed guide at approximately 9:00 AM to explore Istanbul‘s historic Old City.

You begin at the Basilica Cistern, a Byzantine underground structure, then continue to Hagia Sophia to explore its Byzantine and Ottoman past. At the Blue Mosque, you see Ottoman architecture and handmade Iznik tiles.

You walk through the Hippodrome of Constantinople, once used for chariot racing and public gatherings. Your final stop is the Grand Bazaar, where you can browse shops selling carpets, jewelry, ceramics, leather goods, spices, and Turkish products.

You return to your hotel after sightseeing. Allow approximately 7 hours for the day’s program, depending on traffic and site access. Your Istanbul sightseeing may involve walking and public transportation where appropriate.

Overnight in Istanbul.

After breakfast, you meet your guide at approximately 9:00 AM for another day in Istanbul. You begin at Süleymaniye Mosque, designed by Ottoman architect Mimar Sinan.

You continue to the Spice Bazaar, where you can browse spices, teas, Turkish delight, and dried fruit. Later, you take a shared cruise along the Bosphorus Strait, the waterway between Istanbul’s European and Asian sides.

From the boat, you see Ottoman palaces, waterfront mansions, fortresses, bridges, and shoreline neighborhoods. Your sightseeing guide is assigned to your party, but you share the cruise boat with other passengers.

You return to your hotel after the cruise. Allow approximately 6 hours for sightseeing, travel, and the cruise, depending on the confirmed boat schedule and traffic.

Overnight in Istanbul.

Early in the morning, you check out of your Istanbul hotel and transfer to the airport for your included flight to Denizli. The approximate departure window is 6:00-8:30 AM, subject to airline schedules and availability. Your hotel pickup is arranged around your confirmed departure time.

At Denizli Airport, you meet your guide and driver and continue to Pamukkale. You visit the Pamukkale Travertine Terraces, the white terraces that give the site its nickname, Cotton Castle.

You then explore Hierapolis, the remains of a Greco-Roman settlement above the terraces. If you wish, you can swim in the thermal waters of Cleopatra’s Pool; this is optional, and its entrance fee is not included.

After sightseeing, you travel by vehicle to Kuşadası, a journey of approximately 2 hours. You check in to your hotel and have the evening at leisure. Allow approximately 11 hours for transfers, the flight, sightseeing, and onward travel, depending on your confirmed transport schedule.

Breakfast is included with your hotel stay; its timing will depend on your early departure.

Overnight in Kuşadası.

After breakfast and checkout from your Kuşadası hotel, you meet your guide for a full-day tour of the Ancient City of Ephesus and nearby sites. You walk along marble streets and explore the monuments and archaeological remains of this UNESCO World Heritage Site.

You continue to the House of the Virgin Mary, traditionally believed to have been Mary’s final residence. You also visit the remains of the Temple of Artemis, once counted among the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.

After the tour, you transfer to İzmir Airport for your included flight to Cappadocia. Departures are generally planned for the late afternoon or evening, subject to airline schedules, operating days, and availability.

On arrival at Kayseri Airport or Nevşehir Airport, you meet your driver and transfer to your cave hotel. Allow approximately 12 hours for sightseeing, airport transfers, and flight travel, depending on your confirmed transport schedule.

Overnight in Cappadocia.

Before breakfast, you may take an optional sunrise hot air balloon flight over Cappadocia’s valleys and fairy chimneys, the region’s distinctive rock formations.

Please note that the hot air balloon flight is not private. It is operated as a shared flight with other passengers in the same balloon basket.

The balloon ride is arranged separately and is not included in the tour price or guaranteed. Operation is subject to suitable weather conditions, official flight approval, and availability. Advance booking is strongly recommended.

If you take the balloon flight, you return to your hotel afterward for breakfast. You meet your guide at approximately 9:30-10:00 AM for your South Cappadocia tour.

Your sightseeing may include Göreme Panorama for views across the region; Kaymaklı Underground City, a settlement built across several underground levels; and Pigeon Valley, where you can see pigeon houses carved into the cliffs.

You may also visit Ortahisar, a village dominated by a natural rock castle, and Red Valley, known for its colored rock formations. Your guide may include other viewpoints or cultural stops depending on local conditions and timing. The attraction order may change with weather, traffic, opening hours, and operating conditions.

You return to your hotel after the tour. Allow approximately 7 hours for scheduled sightseeing and travel, depending on confirmed transport arrangements and local conditions. The separately arranged balloon activity adds time before breakfast and is not counted in this estimate.

Overnight in Cappadocia.

After breakfast and hotel checkout, you meet your guide for your North Cappadocia tour. You visit Göreme Open Air Museum, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where you see rock-cut Byzantine churches and frescoes.

At Paşabağ (Monks Valley), you see mushroom-shaped fairy chimneys. You then explore Devrent Valley (Imagination Valley), where rock formations resemble animals and other recognizable shapes.

You continue to Avanos, a pottery-making town beside the Kızılırmak River. At a traditional pottery workshop, you watch artisans demonstrate their techniques.

After sightseeing, you transfer to Kayseri Airport or Nevşehir Airport for your included flight to Istanbul. The approximate departure window is 6:00-10:00 PM, subject to airline availability and seasonal schedules.

On arrival, you meet your driver for your hotel transfer. Allow approximately 12 hours for sightseeing, transfers, and flight travel, excluding any free time between services. The actual duration depends on your confirmed transport schedule. Your guide may adjust the sightseeing order to local conditions and opening hours.

After breakfast and checkout from your Istanbul hotel, you transfer to Istanbul Airport (IST) or Sabiha Gökçen Airport (SAW). Your pickup is arranged according to your international flight departure time.

Allow approximately 2 hours for the scheduled transfer, depending on traffic and your confirmed flight schedule. Your tour services end at the airport.
