Overview
Begin in Istanbul, where a representative greets you at the airport and a private transfer delivers you to your hotel — leaving you free to rest before the real journey starts. A full guided day across the city follows, tracing more than two millennia of history through the Byzantine Hippodrome, Topkapi Palace, Hagia Sophia, the tile-lined Blue Mosque, and the labyrinth of the Grand Bazaar. From there, a short flight carries you into the volcanic dreamscape of Cappadocia, home to fairy chimneys at Urgup and Pasabag, the carved dovecotes of Pigeon Valley, the frescoed churches of the Göreme Open-Air Museum, and the deep tunnels of an underground city, with two nights spent in an atmospheric cave hotel.
This route then crosses the Anatolian plains toward Konya, where you pause at the Mevlana Museum and the mausoleum of Rumi before continuing to Pamukkale to soak in thermal waters and walk the snow-white travertine terraces beside the ruins of Hierapolis. The final stretch leads to the Aegean coast and the marble streets of Ephesus — Curetes Street, the Temple of Hadrian, the Library of Celsus, and the vast Great Theatre — before a return flight to Istanbul. With domestic flights, intercity drives, guided touring, hotels, and daily breakfasts handled, this guided group tour lets you focus on Turkey’s most iconic landscapes and ancient cities.

Important Information
- Hot air balloon flights in Cappadocia are not included in this tour but can be arranged as an optional extra. Flights are weather-dependent and subject to aviation authority approval, so we recommend booking your earliest available morning (Day 3 or 4) to allow a backup option if canceled.
- Domestic flights within Turkey (Istanbul to Cappadocia and Kusadasi to Istanbul) allow 15 kg checked luggage per person. Excess baggage fees apply, so we recommend packing light with soft-sided bags for easier handling.
- Mosques and the Hagia Sophia are closed to visitors during prayer times, especially Friday prayers (approximately 12:00-14:00). Your guide will plan the Istanbul tour route accordingly.
- A modest dress code is required at religious sites such as mosques, the Hagia Sophia, and the Mevlana Museum in Konya: women should cover their head, shoulders, and knees. Scarves are usually available at the entrances.
- This tour involves significant walking on uneven terrain, cobblestones, and slopes at Ephesus, Pamukkale, Hierapolis, Göreme, and Cappadocia's underground cities. Comfortable, sturdy walking shoes are essential and a reasonable level of fitness is recommended.
- At Pamukkale's travertine terraces, shoes must be removed to protect the calcite surface, so you will walk barefoot on warm, sometimes slippery mineral pools. Bring a small towel and consider quick-dry clothing.
- The Cappadocia to Pamukkale drive on Day 5 (via Konya) is a long journey across the central Anatolian plains, with comfortable rest stops along the way. Keep water and snacks on hand and dress in layers for changing temperatures.
- Day 3 begins with an early hotel pickup for your domestic flight to Cappadocia. Please be ready in the hotel lobby at the scheduled pickup time.
- Room assignments are based on twin/double sharing. Triple rooms may be limited at the cave and thermal hotels, and single travelers are subject to a single supplement.
- The Turkish Lira is the local currency, though many shops and pottery or carpet workshops accept major cards. Carry some cash for tips, small purchases, and optional activities, as ATMs may be limited at rural sites.
- Turkey uses Type C and F electrical outlets (European standard, 220V). Travelers from the US/UK should bring a suitable plug adapter.

If you need to cancel your tour or change your travel dates, please notify us at least 5 days before the tour start date. Please note that flight and bus tickets are non-refundable. The famous Cappadocia hot air balloon ride is not included in this package, as it operates as a separate optional activity subject to weather conditions. With two nights at a cave hotel in Cappadocia, you’ll have the perfect opportunity to add a sunrise balloon flight — just let your guide or our team know in advance and we’ll gladly help arrange it.
The included Istanbul–Cappadocia domestic flight typically allows around 15 kg of checked baggage and one piece of cabin luggage, though allowances can vary by airline. We recommend packing light for this leg, and if you’re carrying extra luggage, please inform us in advance so we can arrange additional allowance where possible.
This tour features 7 nights of carefully selected accommodation, including two nights in an atmospheric cave hotel in Cappadocia and a thermal hotel in Pamukkale where you can enjoy the natural mineral waters. All hotels are comfortable, well-located, and include daily breakfast, with two dinners provided in Pamukkale.
When visiting religious sites such as the Blue Mosque in Istanbul, both men and women should dress modestly, with shoulders and knees covered, and shoes are removed before entering. Women are asked to cover their hair, so we recommend bringing a light scarf — many sites also provide coverings at the entrance if needed.
This tour combines domestic flights with scenic intercity drives to keep travel comfortable. The longest road journey is on Day 5 from Cappadocia to Pamukkale via Konya, crossing the Anatolian plains with rest stops along the way, while shorter coach transfers connect Pamukkale, Kusadasi, and Ephesus — all aboard an air-conditioned tour bus.
Yes — staying at a thermal hotel in Pamukkale means you can soak in the mineral-rich warm waters during your free evening. At the Pamukkale site itself, you may walk barefoot along the white travertine terraces, and the famous Cleopatra Antique Pool near Hierapolis is also available to swim in for an optional separate fee.
Turkey is a popular and welcoming destination that warmly receives millions of travelers each year, and the destinations on this tour — Istanbul, Cappadocia, Konya, Pamukkale, and Ephesus — are well-established tourist regions. Traveling as part of a guided group with an experienced English-speaking guide adds an extra layer of comfort and security throughout your journey.
Many nationalities can enter Turkey visa-free or with a simple online e-Visa, which can be obtained quickly through the official Turkish e-Visa portal before departure. Visa requirements depend on your passport, so we recommend checking your specific eligibility well ahead of your travel date and ensuring your passport is valid for at least six months.
Our multi-day Turkey packages are regular group/shared tour arrangements, not fully escorted tours with one tour leader and the same guests from arrival to departure. Sightseeing tours are shared and usually operate with about 15-25 guests, but group size and participants may change by city or day as travelers join or leave different scheduled tours. Licensed English-speaking guides lead scheduled sightseeing visits only. Guides do not travel with guests on domestic flights, intercity buses, airport transfers, hotel transfers, or free-time periods unless this is specifically stated in the itinerary. For flights, buses, and transfers, guests are met by our driver or local representative at airports, bus terminals, or hotels and assisted with the planned transfer. One Nation Travel coordinates the full itinerary, hotels, domestic tickets, transfers, local guides, and support throughout the trip.
