Why choose this itinerary
This 14-day route covers Egypt first, then Turkey, with a week in each. Days 1 to 3 stay in Cairo for the Giza Pyramids, the Egyptian Museum, Islamic and Coptic Cairo and Khan el-Khalili before the pace picks up. On day 4 you fly to Aswan and board a three-night Nile cruise (sailing Monday, Wednesday or Friday) that calls at Kom Ombo and Edfu before Luxor’s East Bank on day 6 and the Valley of the Kings on day 7. After the flight to Istanbul on day 8, two days split the Old City and a Bosphorus cruise, then Cappadocia gets three separate circuits: North on day 11, South on day 12 and the Green Tour with Derinkuyu and Ihlara Valley on day 13.
It suits first-time visitors who want both countries in one trip without rushing either, and history-minded travelers who would rather spend proper time at Karnak, Hagia Sophia and Derinkuyu than skim them. Four domestic flights are included; only the Cairo to Istanbul leg on day 8 is booked separately.
The 14-day length is what makes room for three cruise nights and three distinct Cappadocia days; a tighter schedule would have to give up one of them. The sunrise balloon on day 12 is optional.

Begin with a visit to the historic Hanging Church (El Muallaqa), one of the oldest churches in Egypt, built on the remains of two Roman towers. Continue to the Ben Ezra Synagogue, believed to mark the spot where baby Moses was found.

After breakfast at your hotel, you will be transferred to Cairo Airport for your morning flight to Aswan. Upon arrival, a One Nation Travel representative will meet you and introduce you to your Egyptologist guide, who will accompany you on a tour of Aswan’s most remarkable sites.
Begin your exploration with the Aswan High Dam, a modern engineering masterpiece that tamed the Nile River and provides much of Egypt’s electricity. Continue to the Unfinished Obelisk, an enormous granite monument that reveals ancient stone-cutting techniques and the ambition of Egypt’s builders. Conclude your tour with a visit to the enchanting Temple of Philae, dedicated to the goddess Isis. The temple was carefully relocated to Agilkia Island to protect it from flooding after the construction of the High Dam.
After your sightseeing, you will be transferred to your Nile Cruise for embarkation. Once on board, enjoy lunch and take in the serene views of the Nile. Enjoy breakfast on board as you sail past the Aswan Bridge and approach the twin temples of Kom Ombo. Your guide will lead you through this fascinating site, uniquely dedicated to two gods: Sobek, the crocodile-headed god of fertility, and Haroeris (Horus the Elder), the falcon-headed god. Don’t miss the small museum nearby, which houses mummified crocodiles and ancient medical instruments.
Return to the ship for lunch as the cruise continues toward Edfu. Upon arrival, visit the impressive Temple of Horus, one of the best-preserved temples in all of Egypt, dedicated to the falcon god Horus.

Begin with the legendary Valley of the Kings, the burial site of Egypt’s New Kingdom pharaohs, including the tomb of Tutankhamun. Next, visit the elegant Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahari, an architectural masterpiece built into the cliffs of the desert mountains.
Before leaving, stop to admire the Colossi of Memnon — two massive stone statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III that have watched over the Theban necropolis for over 3,000 years.

First, visit Hagia Sophia Grand Mosque Grand Mosque, a masterpiece that served as a cathedral, mosque, and now a museum, showcasing centuries of Christian and Islamic heritage.
Next, head to Blue Mosque, celebrated for its stunning blue Iznik tiles and six towering minarets, a hallmark of Ottoman architecture.

Early in the morning, you will be picked up from your hotel in Istanbul and transferred to the airport for your flight to either Kayseri or Nevşehir. Your tour starts with a visit to the unique rock formations of Devrent Valley, also known as Imagination Valley, where the natural rock shapes resemble animals and other imaginative figures. Your first stop will be the stunning Göreme Panorama, offering sweeping views over the valleys and fairy chimneys. Continue to explore the remarkable Derinkuyu Underground City, the deepest underground city in Cappadocia, where early Christians once sought refuge from invaders.
Next, enjoy a leisurely hike through the beautiful Ihlara Valley, famous for its lush greenery, rock formations, and ancient cave churches adorned with frescoes. Sightseeing tours are shared and usually operate with about 15-20 guests, but group size and participants may change by city or day as travelers join or leave different scheduled tours. Licensed English-speaking guides lead scheduled sightseeing visits only. Guides do not travel with guests on domestic flights, intercity buses, airport transfers, hotel transfers, or free-time periods unless this is specifically stated in the itinerary. For flights, buses, and transfers, guests are met by our driver or local representative at airports, bus terminals, or hotels and assisted with the planned transfer. One Nation Travel coordinates the full itinerary, hotels, domestic tickets, transfers, local guides, and support throughout the trip.
