Overview
Begin where two continents meet, then surrender to the slow unfurling of a civilization stacked layer upon layer across millennia. This grand eighteen-day odyssey opens in Istanbul, where Hagia Sophia’s vast dome and the Blue Mosque’s cascading tiles give way to the spice-scented lanes of the Grand Bazaar and a glide along the Bosphorus between Europe and Asia. From there the journey deepens — into the spiritual heart of Konya, where Rumi’s legacy lingers, then the surreal volcanic theatre of Cappadocia, with rock-cut churches glowing in Byzantine fresco and silent underground cities plunging floors deep into the earth. You trace Roman streets at Ephesus and Perge, stand barefoot on the dazzling white travertines of Pamukkale, walk the legendary ramparts of Troy, and pause in quiet reflection on the shores of Gallipoli. The path even reaches Göbekli Tepe, humanity’s oldest temple, older than the pyramids. With intercity coaches, domestic flights, expert guiding, and your stays and sightseeing handled, you simply absorb it all — sharing discoveries with fellow travelers and savouring unhurried leisure days along the Mediterranean coast. You return home carrying the full sweep of a land where every stone has a story.

Important Information
- Three domestic flights are included on this tour (Istanbul to Konya, Ankara to Antalya, and Istanbul to Sanliurfa for Gobekli Tepe). Checked luggage is limited to 15-20 kg per person, and excess fees apply. We recommend soft-sided bags for easier handling.
- This itinerary involves several very early starts, including a 4:00 AM hotel pick-up on Day 3 for your Konya flight. Please pack the night before and arrange any wake-up calls in advance.
- Mosques such as Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque are closed to visitors during prayer times, especially Friday prayers (approximately 12:00-14:00). Your guide will plan group visits around these closures.
- A modest dress code is required when visiting mosques and religious sites like the Mevlana Museum: women should cover their head, shoulders, and knees. Headscarves are usually available at entrances.
- Lunches at local Turkish restaurants are included on all full-day tours, with the exception of the Bosphorus Cruise day (Day 15), when lunch is at your own arrangement.
- This tour is physically active and involves extensive walking on uneven terrain, ancient ruins, and cobblestones at sites like Ephesus, Pergamon, Troy, and the Cappadocia valleys. The Ihlara Valley includes a 4 km hike, so comfortable walking shoes and a reasonable level of fitness are essential.
- Hot air balloon flights over Cappadocia are not included in this package but can be arranged as an optional add-on. Flights are weather-dependent and may be canceled by the aviation authority, so we recommend pre-booking for your earliest morning in the region.
- This itinerary includes several long intercity coach journeys, such as Cappadocia to Ankara, Antalya to Pamukkale (several hours), and Pergamon to Canakkale. Comfort stops are provided along the way.
- At the Sacred Pool in Hierapolis (Day 11), you may swim among submerged ancient columns. Bring swimwear and a towel if you wish to take part; this is an optional activity at your own expense.
- Underground cities such as Kaymakli, Derinkuyu, and Ozkonak involve narrow passages, low ceilings, and steep steps. Travelers with claustrophobia or mobility concerns should advise their guide in advance.
- Room assignments are based on twin/double sharing. Triple rooms are available at select hotels but may be limited, and single supplements apply for solo travelers.
- Turkey uses Type C and F electrical outlets (European standard, 220V), so travelers from the US/UK should bring an adapter. The local currency is the Turkish Lira, and while cards are widely accepted, carrying some cash is useful for bazaars and tips.
FAQs
General
If you need to cancel or change your travel dates, please notify us at least 5 days before the tour starts. In this case, the cost of all flight and bus tickets—which are non-refundable—will be deducted from your paid balance, and the remaining amount will be refunded to you. For cancellations or date changes made less than 5 days before the tour, the full amount paid will be considered non-refundable, as a “no-show” policy will apply.
Our multi-day Turkey packages are regular group/shared tour arrangements, not fully escorted tours with one tour leader and the same guests from arrival to departure. Sightseeing tours are shared and usually operate with about 15-20 guests, but group size and participants may change by city or day as travelers join or leave different scheduled tours. Licensed English-speaking guides lead scheduled sightseeing visits only. Guides do not travel with guests on domestic flights, intercity buses, airport transfers, hotel transfers, or free-time periods unless this is specifically stated in the itinerary. For flights, buses, and transfers, guests are met by our driver or local representative at airports, bus terminals, or hotels and assisted with the planned transfer. One Nation Travel coordinates the full itinerary, hotels, domestic tickets, transfers, local guides, and support throughout the trip.

Big thanks to Ayhan at One Nation Travel. He stayed in touch the whole time and answered our questions right away.
